The Soundspace Walkthrough Task is a simple yet effective routine to ensure our spaces remain clean, functional, and welcoming. All it takes is a quick visit to your assigned location every 24 hours to visually inspect the space, identify any issues, and report them using an easy-to-follow form. By promptly addressing any concerns, we can maintain a high-quality environment for our members with minimal effort. Your dedication to this task plays a crucial role in Soundspace's continued success.
Use this checklist as a guide during your space walkthroughs to ensure all areas are inspected and maintained to the highest standard.
Frequency: Each team member assigned to a local Soundspace location will conduct a walkthrough of the space at least once every 24 hours, or as frequently as needed based on space usage.
Checklist: Prior to conducting the walkthrough, review the , which outlines the key areas and items to be inspected during the walkthrough. This checklist will be provided to all team members and should be used as a guide throughout the process.
Documentation: During the walkthrough, take notes on any issues or concerns, such as broken equipment, clutter, cleanliness, or signs of wear and tear. Take photos of any problem areas for reference.
Prioritization: After completing the walkthrough, prioritize the issues identified based on urgency and importance. For example, broken equipment that affects the functionality of the space should be addressed immediately, while minor wear and tear can be scheduled for repair at a later date.

Floors: Check for cleanliness, debris, stains, or damage. Sweep, mop, or vacuum as necessary.
Walls: Inspect for scuffs, marks, or damage. Schedule repairs or touch-up painting as needed.
Ceilings: Look for signs of water damage, cracks, or peeling paint. Report any issues for repair.
Lighting: Verify that all lights are functioning properly. Replace any burnt-out bulbs or faulty fixtures.
Windows: Ensure windows are clean and free of smudges. Check for any cracks or damage.
Doors: Test all doors for proper function, including locks and hinges. Lubricate or adjust as needed.
Ventilation: Inspect vents and filters for dust buildup. Replace or clean filters as necessary.
Fire Safety: Check fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and emergency exits for proper function and compliance.
Water cooler: Check the water cooler, empty the water tray, and go fill up the jugs at a local water station (most likely in a local grocery store) if necessary.
Plants: Trim and water the plants when necessary
Dishes: Clean all dirty dishes and put clean mugs at the water station
Bathrooms: Stock and clean bathrooms including sinks, toilets and mirrors.

Equipment: Inspect all recording and production equipment for damage, wear, or malfunction. Test functionality if possible.
Cables & Wires: Check for any frayed, damaged, or tangled cables. Organize and replace as needed.
Furniture: Examine chairs, tables, and other furniture for stability and wear. Repair or replace as necessary.
Acoustics: Inspect soundproofing materials and panels for damage or detachment. Schedule repairs if needed.
Storage: Ensure storage areas are organized, clean, and free of clutter. Label and rearrange items as needed.
Reset: Reset the space to standard (replace all seating to original positions and make sure all equipment is accounted for in its rightful place)
Instruments: Check all instruments for damage, tuning, and functionality. Schedule repairs or replacements as needed.
Amplifiers & Speakers: Inspect for damage or malfunction. Test audio quality and volume levels.
Stands & Accessories: Verify that all stands and accessories are in good condition and functioning properly.
Flooring: Check for damage, stains, or wear that could impact rehearsal activities. Schedule repairs if needed.
Reset: Reset the space to standard (replace all seating to original positions and make sure all equipment is accounted for in its rightful place)
Microphones: Inspect microphones for damage, wear, or malfunction. Test audio quality if possible.
Mixers & Audio Interfaces: Verify all mixers and interfaces are functioning properly and free of damage.
Headphones: Check for wear, damage, or malfunction. Test audio quality and comfort.
Furniture: Inspect podcasting desks, chairs, and other furniture for stability, comfort, and wear.
Reset: Reset the space to standard (replace all seating to original positions and make sure all equipment is accounted for in its rightful place)
Cleanliness: Ensure restrooms and common areas are clean, stocked with supplies, and free of odors.
Fixtures: Inspect sinks, toilets, and other fixtures for proper function, leaks, or damage. Schedule repairs as needed.
Trash: Empty trash cans and replace liners. Check for any debris or spills that need attention.
Once the walkthrough is complete, use your notes and photos to create a report and action plan for addressing any issues identified. Remember to prioritize urgent concerns and collaborate with the facilities coordinator to ensure all necessary repairs and maintenance are scheduled in a timely manner.
