Employee Termination Process

To ensure the secure and efficient termination of an employee's access to company resources.

Scope

This SOP applies to the IT department responsible for managing access permissions to company resources.

Definitions

  • Termination: The process of ending an employee's employment with the company.

  • Access Permissions: The rights given to an employee to use certain company resources.

Responsibilities

  • IT Department: Responsible for removing access permissions from company resources and updating group passwords.

Procedure

Preparation

  1. Notification: Upon receiving notification of an employee's termination, the IT department should prepare to remove the employee's access permissions.

Execution

  1. Remove Access from Services: The IT department should remove the terminated employee's access from the following services:

    • Google Drive

    • Memberspace

    • Kisi

    • Acuity

    • Slack

    • Airtable

    • Trello

    • Stripe

  2. Update Group Passwords: If the terminated employee had access to widely known or group passwords, these should be updated.

  3. Delete Email Access: The IT department should delete the terminated employee's email address access.

Completion

  1. Confirmation: Confirm that all access permissions have been successfully removed and all relevant passwords have been updated.

Notes/Precautions

  • Ensure that all steps are completed in a timely manner to maintain the security of company resources.

  • Keep a record of all actions taken during the termination process for future reference and auditing purposes.
