Setting Up a New Service

Purpose

To ensure that all new services are set up correctly, securely, and in alignment with the company's IT policies and procedures.

Scope

This SOP applies to all team members who need to set up a new service.

Definitions

  • Service: Any software, tool, platform, or system used by the company.

  • Stack Lead: The team leader responsible for a particular area or project within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Team Member: Initiates the request for a new service and obtains necessary approvals.

  • Stack Lead: Approves the request for a new service.

  • Finance Team: Approves the financial aspects of the new service request, if necessary.

  • IT Department: Sets up the new service, integrates it into the company's IT infrastructure, and sets up credentialing and ownership.

Procedure

Preparation

  1. Approval Request: If you need to set up a new service, contact your Stack Lead for approval.

  2. Finance Approval: If financial approval is needed, contact the Finance team ahead of time.

Execution

  1. Application Request: Once approved, send an application request to [email protected]. Include all relevant details about the service you want to set up.

  2. IT Setup: The IT department will work with you to integrate the service and set up credentialing and ownership under [email protected].

Completion

  1. Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email from the IT department when your service has been finalized.

Notes/Precautions

  • Ensure that you have all necessary approvals before setting up a new service.

  • Keep all communication and documentation related to the new service for future reference and auditing purposes.
